Application & Specifications
Anwendung
This mole repellent has been a popular pest control method for many years. The product should be applied to all molehills in the evening and then covered with soil. If new molehills are discovered the next morning, the treatment should be repeated in those areas by applying a few carbide granules and covering them with soil. To ensure the product can spread effectively through the corridors, the corridors must not be damaged or the mounds destroyed.

What is carbide?
HOLTAZ TRAP CARBIDE is a highly effective means of repelling moles and voles from our property or garden. The active ingredient (calcium carbide) forms volatile acetylene compounds upon contact with water or soil moisture. The composition and size of the carbide pieces were selected to ensure high reactivity with moisture. The carbide lumps placed in the mole burrow begin to react when exposed to soil moisture. This releases acetylene, which spreads through the tunnels and effectively repels moles and voles. The unpleasant odor forces them to leave the occupied area. Unlike other chemicals, the product we offer is environmentally safe, as only environmentally friendly lime remains in the soil after application. Applying carbide is the simplest and cheapest way to get rid of pests.

How is carbide used?
For successful mole control with carbide, you should: Cover all molehills in the evening. The next morning, when new ones appear, carefully scrape the soil from the freshly formed mounds (to avoid destroying the tunnels). Throw a few lumps of carbide into each exposed mole hole and carefully cover them with soil without disturbing the tunnel. Under the influence of soil moisture, acetylene is released, which spreads through the tunnels and effectively deters moles and voles. Be careful when applying it; do not inhale the gas trapped in the soil or set it on fire. Carbide should only be applied by an adult. Carbide should be applied in sunny, cloudless weather. If the soil is dry, the mound can be watered to accelerate the release of acetylene.
